This year’s Cyber Wellness Day was held on 5 July. The theme was ‘You Are A STARR’. STARR stands for Sense, Think and Act to be Responsible and Respectful.

Kheng Cheng School celebrated our 90th anniversary this year at Tim Palace, SAFRA Toa Payoh, on 30 June. All came together in this joyous occasion to celebrate our rich heritage and success.

This competition promotes creative writing and expression in Chinese Language.This year, 15 of our P4, P5 HCL and P6HCL students took part in the competition.

South Zone International Chess Carnival
The South Zone International Chess Carnival was organised and hosted by Kheng Cheng School on 22 June 2017. A total of 149 participants from nine primary schools took part in the event.

On 9 March, the Housing Development Board (HDB) invited Kheng Cheng School Dance Ensemble to perform at their Service Recognition Awards Presentation Ceremony.

We recently worked with Zaobao on an article for the school’s 90th Anniversary Celebrations, and were humbled by our own inter-generational family of teachers who were also alumni.

KCS commemorated IFD on 7 April and the theme is ‘ASEAN 50’. This event provided opportunities for our students to learn about and appreciate other cultures in cosmopolitan Singapore.

Parliamentary Secretary A/Prof Dr Faishal was in Kheng Cheng School for a school visit on 5 Apr 2017 and was also impressed by our students’ confidence in their presentations. Read more here.

Our Red Cross Link participated in the First Aid Championships 2017 on 24 February 2017 to raise the standards of first aid in RCY members, increase awareness of first aid.

We would like to congratulate our Red Cross Unit for achieving the Gold Award for the year 2016!We will continue to integrate character-building, leadership and essential life-saving skills.

In conjunction with Total Defence Day 2017, the Red Cross Link set up booths during the two recesses to share their first aid knowledge with the rest of the school on 15 February 2017.

The theme for 2017's Total Defence campaign – "Together We Keep Singapore Strong" – focuses on the many ways we can put Total Defence into action in our everyday lives.

The annual P5 camp Themed “Kampung Days”, our P5 students were taught to cooperate and foster friendship in a close knitted community like those of yesteryears.

The first ever KCS Family Movie Day was held on 11 February, Saturday. More than 300 gathered watching ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ at Golden Village, Plaza Singapura with family and friends!

Kheng Cheng School Tuan Bai 2017 was held on 1 Feb 2017. We were honoured to have our SMC Chairman and other SMC members to grace the event.

We kicked off the celebrations with activities such as colouring of a little rooster, tying Chinese knots and paper cutting in class. All students also received a red packet each from their teachers.

Our P5 students took on the role of playing big brothers and sisters to the youngest members of the Kheng Cheng family, helping them to orientate around the school.

Gains in learning are most prominent when parents and school staff work together to facilitate a supportive learning environment at both home and school.

On Tuesday 15 November 2016, the students gathered in the hall to watch their peers perform in a variety of musical ensembles. From recorder and drumming to a full out rock band and guitar ensemble,

14 November 2016 was specially set aside for the school to show our appreciation towards our P6 key student leaders. They include our school prefects and CCA leaders.

The Season VII of the annual KCS Idol singing competition. After an intense competition, Yu Kai emerged as the KCS Idol winner! Congratulations, Yu Kai!

Our KCS DiScivery Fair which was held on 8 and 9 November was a successful event! The students did not get enough of the hands-on activities prepared for them by our Science Department members.

Some of our students had the opportunity to explore KidZania as part of the school's Education & Career Guidance programme this year.

We are proud to share that they have won the Gold Award in the Flutter Category and a Commendation Award in the Rhythm Category in the Red Cross Link Competition 2016.

Our P1 students went to the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden on the last week of September 2016 as part of Citizenship Education and "outdoor classroom" activities.

Children’s Day was successfully celebrated on 6th October 2016 with both the Sports Fiesta and the concert segment. It was a day filled with fun and laughter.

The Scrabble Club participated in the 6th Super Zone Scrabble Competition on Saturday, 24 September 2016.The Junior Division Team 1 achieved South Zone 2nd place. Congratulations, Scrabble Club!

Our Health Fair this year took place on 30 August 2016. We had programmes for the students throughout the day for the various levels.

Our students planned the Teachers' Day celebrations on 1st September.Their performance for their teachers was special and memorable.

The school hosted a visit on Wednesday, 17 August to welcome a delegation comprising Brunei’s Senior MOE officials as part of the 9th Singapore-Brunei Education JWG Meeting on Education.

On 30 July, Media Club participated in the National Photofest 2016. Our students were awarded with the Group Special Mention Award! Congratulations!

This year, for Singapore’s 51st National Day celebrations, KCS students played their part in “Building our Singapore of Tomorrow”.

Pintar Kata App National Competition is to encourage the learning of vocabulary. Our heartiest congratulation to Siti Aisyah for clinching 9th position in the Pintar Kata App Competition.

On 21 July, Kheng Cheng School marked Racial Harmony Day 2016 with the launch of a game set that touches on our shared and cultural heritage.

On 18th July 2016, Kheng Cheng School hosted her guests, comprising 28 students and 3 staff from Chaoyang Primary School, Beijing. It was their inaugural visit to KCS for an exchange.
