In 2017, we have seen a number of new learning experiences and achievements. We celebrated our 90 years of heritage and success and are especially grateful for your generous support for our fund raising efforts. We are also heartened by the Values-In-Action (VIA) projects that our students have embarked on. These VIA projects are part of our efforts to empower them to lead and impact the community, and be future-ready. In this last memo of the year, we will like to share some important school matters.
In the recent Majulah Singapura Lecture, DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam called for a new spirit in education, and the need for us to keep evolving. To develop the Entrepreneurial Dare and nurture the Singapore Spirit in our students, we have implemented the Values-in-Action (VIA) Projects across all student cohorts. This would be the school’s Learning for Life Programme through Student Voice. Do check in with your children on their class VIA projects and what it meant for them.
We move full steam ahead, in this final term of the year. PSLE is ongoing and SA2 will follow after the Children’s Day weekend. In KCS, we believe that there is more to school than grades. Sharity Children’s Day Appeal, Sports Fiesta, Children’s Day Concert, Innovation Day, Music Day, Math Trail, DiScivery Day, Class Values-In-Action projects are just some activities coming up this term for our students to learn and build character. We thank parents in advance for your partnership and support in the many programmes and events!
