Students are given the opportunity to excel and enjoy learning Science through multi-faceted activities at different levels to infuse the spirit of scientific inquiry. The learning of Science takes place in the classrooms as well as beyond the four walls of the classroom. We hope that these platforms will create opportunities for students to apply the Science process skills and concepts. Students engage in inquiry-based learning using the 5E-I model (5E-Inquiry model) which has scientific inquiry at its core, supported by the 5 E’s (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate) to bring about the spirit of scientific inquiry.
Our Primary Two students are exposed to Science concepts and process skills through Young Minds @ Work. The Science Department aims to trigger interest in Science in our Primary Two students before they learn the subject in Primary Three. It also aims to build foundational observation and comparison skills in them.
YEZ! takes our students out of the classroom and into the Singapore Zoo. This outdoor learning experience gives our students the opportunity to observe animals and plants at close range to find out more about them. In addition, students will hone their collaborative skills as they work with their friends to complete a series of questions in a trail using hand-held tablets. Do look out for our students holding these devices at the Singapore Zoo!

This is the belief that drives VRS. VRS makes use of concept cartoons to help students improve their Science process skills and Science content, and challenge them to think critically. Studies have shown that children are able to build relations between knowledge and observations better when they can imagine themselves as the characters of a show. As such, VRS aims to help our students achieve their potential in Science through challenging yet accessible concept cartoons.
With focus on Real World Science, our Upper Primary students work like scientists to solve the big questions involving real world phenomenon and observations. Science is everywhere, yet many struggle to explain the scientific phenomenon that happens around us.
The RWS programme challenges our Upper Primary students to think critically and apply their problem-solving skills, and Science concepts and knowledge to explain phenomena. Through experimentation and research, students discover new findings to support their understanding of Science and how the world works. With the unknown and unpredictable future ahead of us, these analytical and problem-solving skills will ensure that our students are ready to meet the challenges of the future and contribute positively back to the society through innovation.
A yearly affair, the DiSciVery fair continues to be the top favourite and highlight of every student. Birth from the voices of the students, the DiSciVery fair provides students with the hands-on opportunity to observe, experience and immerse in the world of Science.
