P5 Camp 2022
The Primary 5 students had a fun and memorable learning experience during their P5 Outdoor Adventure Camp. The 3-days non-residential camp was held at the Changi Coast Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre. Led by MOE’s Outdoor Adventure Educators (OAEs) and teachers, the students had the opportunity to experience learning through place-based and journey-based activities. Their key learning experiences include the Low Elements, Kayaking Orientation Programme, outdoor living skills and Coastal Exploration. Within their small groups, the students had to work with one another to demonstrate teamwork and leadership in order to accomplish challenging tasks such as kayaking and low elements.
The aim of the camp was to provide the opportunity and platform for the students to understand the importance of embracing diversity and challenges, as well as to overcome their own self-imposed limitations. They have been put in challenging situations where they require resilience and courage to succeed in these tasks, and thereby experiencing valuable life lessons, which will stay with them throughout their life’s journey. It was an enjoyable experience as the students took home with them many fond memories from the P5 Camp.
