Student Development Team

Objectives

Our Student Development Team oversees the holistic development of our students. We aim to develop students and enhance their learning experience in school through various programmes for students and strong partnership with stakeholders.

Approach

The team comprises of 2 Year Heads and 3 Assistant Year Heads who work closely with the class form teachers to cater to the students' socio-emotional needs, including cultivating values, and providing additional support.

Key Programmes

1. bacK to sChool Session

The bacK to sChool Session aims to help students settle into the new school year. This takes place on the first week of the year, for Primary 1 students, and the first day of school for the rest of the levels. Activities are planned to help our students adapt to the new environment and foster positive relationships with their teachers and peers. These activities include:

• Ice-breaker activities

• Classroom routines and expectations

• Recess Buddy Programme (For P1 and P4 students only)

3. Social Skills
Students are explicitly taught social skills during CCE lessons. We believe that by equipping students with social skills, they will be able to build healthy relationships and make responsible decisions. This will in turns helps students to build resilience, achieve better mental well-being, which leads to positive effects on their learning and overall holistic development.

4. Oasis@KCS
This is our in-house after school programme for selected P5 and P6 students. At Oasis@KCS, students are given academic support, equipped with life skills and given opportunities to explore new areas of interest.
